The Allentown Sheeting Facility, located in Allentown, Pennsylvania on the Lehigh River, is a seven day per week operation with three sheeters processing approximately 300 tons per day. With 41 employees, the Allentown Sheeting Facility is focused on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The facility is conveniently located 60 miles north of Philadelphia and 90 miles west of New York City.
Located in the heart of the waterfront district of downtown Boston, Sappi's North American headquarters are uniquely nestled between the financial district and some of the most popular tourist attractions the city has to offer. Just steps from the energy of Faneuil Hall and the New England Aquarium as well as restaurants and the Rose Kennedy Greenway, Sappi's Boston office, positioned on the third and fourth floors of a low-rise office building, offers easy access to public transportation and various other amenities.
Located on the banks of the St. Louis River since 1898, our Cloquet Mill produces some of our most requested coated fine papers including McCoy, Opus and Flo. The mill specializes in coated free sheet graphic paper and bleached chemical pulp.The Cloquet Mill has two paper machines that have an annual capacity of 365,000 tons. At Cloquet, our papers are manufactured with 10% post-consumer waste fiber, which is the level recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency.
The Somerset Mill opened in 1974 and lies on 2,500 acres of land in central Maine. Each of the three paper machines at the mill use SFPNA's patented online finishing technology. Sappi Somerset produces premium, lightweight, coated, commercial printing and publishing papers favored by leading publishers, cataloguers and printers with titles include Vogue, Elle and Bloomingdales. The Somerset Mill manufactures coated free sheet graphic paper, grease-proof packaging paper and bleached chemical pulp.
Founded in 1854 By Samuel Dennis Warren, The Westbrook Mill became part of Sappi in 1994. Sappi Westbrook is the world's leading manufacturer of release papers for the automotive, fashion and engineered films industries. Release papers provide the surface aesthetics found in plastic-coated fabrics found in footwear, clothing, upholstery, accessories, decorative laminates, and more. In fact, it's quite likely that your car's upholstery or some of the shoes in your closet were made with release paper produced in Westbrook. Release papers are used by companies such as BMW, General Motors, Nine West, GAP, Gucci, and Pergo.
Sappi Fine Paper's South Portland, Maine office is located at 179 John Roberts Road and was established in 2003 as a shared services center. Here, over 140 Sappi Fine Paper North America employees representing business functions such as Inside Sales, Information Technology, Finance, Logistics, Operations Planning, Procurement, and Human Resources, are focused on providing exemplary customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
The Technology Center, located in Westbrook, Maine, a suburb of Portland, houses the Research, Development, and Innovation functions for Sappi Fine Paper North America. A staff of 47 employees include Chemists, Chemical Engineers, Physicists, and Polymer, Environmental, and Material Scientists. These functions support both the Coated Woodfree Printing and Specialty Papers businesses of Sappi Fine Paper North America and serve as the technical liaison point with Sappi Fine Paper Europe and Sappi Southern Africa. The Technology Center is a multi-building facility with over 100,000 square feet and includes two pilot scale coating plants, extensive analytical and test equipment, modern laboratories, and a robust technical library. In addition, the Technology Center also houses the Customer and Manufacturing Technical Service groups and the New Business Development group.
Sappi Fine Paper North America, known for innovation and quality, is a preeminent North American producer of coated fine and release papers and market pulp headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. The coated fine paper sales group consists of outside and inside sales teams which work together to sell Sappi Fine Paper North America's pre-eminent fine coated paper brands - McCoy, Opus, Somerset, Galerie Art, and Flo as well as imports from Sappi Fine Paper Europe, including Galerie Publishing Papers, HannoArt, and EuroArt. Deployed into four regions across the U.S., the outside and inside sales teams sell to paper merchants, printers, designers, and corporate end users.
